Doesn't matter if Macs are popular or not, program designers do not dictate a server's technical implementation. The idea is silly. It would be like BMW asking a state to increase their speed limit because BMW thinks it would cause less traffic. They provide a free email service, it works how they want it to work right now. If Mac users want to make use of it, they either need to use a different client on their Macs or stick to POP for incoming mail. Or use another email provider. Or get Apple to fix the numerous bugs with their email program. And I am not exaggerating this point, its not just the view of a PC user. If you go on any Mac forum, and mention the Mac email program , the Mac pro's cringe and suggest you use Thunderbird. Its a known weakness, like the Map app on the iOS. No bueno. Don't use.
