Actually thank you for the suggestion of Thunderbird. I did not down load that program, but I realized that I had Entourage on my computer. After reading this awesome post, I realized and understood that I needed to use a different mail client. I set up my cox email address under Entourage and now it works wonderfully.
There is no issues with syncing my Iphone to the cox email.
Overall frustrating, but I have to say I have learned a lot more about the email world and technology! :)
