RE: Continuing Modem Disconnects

Hah! Nope, I wish. LOL. Maybe one day I will get power-user access. To make stickies and move post if required. Im on most of the the other tech forums and have similar ability there. Its what I do for fun and it keeps me sharp. Technology is like a language, if you stop using it for even a few months, you start to forget things.

My gut says its a IP issue too. Or at the least something that is related to the time interval. Maybe focus on that? Try checking whatismyip.com  reguarly and track when your IP changes and how that corisponds with your connections issue? Also, I know there was talk ot swapping internet to the MTA, but then you couldn't do it right? So what are you using now? Which model? If it has logs, it should show when it requests a IP and if there was any failure. A failure in itself isn't a bad thing, but if the timing lines up, then thats more evidence. You could also try changing the MAC of your router, maybe there is some duplicate in their routing table causing a issue, I doubt it, but its worth a shot. Last, maybe buy a modem (some place you can return it) and try if for a day or two? Just for the heck of it, make it a different model incase its a firmware bug or something. As you can see, I'm running out of ideas. :-(
