RE: sbg6580 modem drops connection on a daily basis

I too am having this problem with the connection being dropped. I have tried everything form unplugging the modem to restarting my laptop. Very frustrating.... Do not know what else to do. Please Help!!!!

Interesting that your modem identifies itself as a "TWC AWG Cable Modem" in its version string. I wonder if there are some Time Warner-specific firmware flags that make it behave oddly on other networks. I know we have had Cox-specific flags enabled on some of our Cisco firmwares that end in "-COX" in the past.

It may be worth a try to resend the firmware even though your version number is current, just to see if the Motorola stock version is better behaved.
