The problem with getting rid of the router is that I have at least 3 computers and 3 tablets on the network, and you're asking me to effectively disconnect all but one of them for up to a week. I'm not sure how that would help anyways though, because I've already replaced the router twice with a different model and the same thing happens.
And again, from both my end and the cable end, everything looks perfect until an outage occurs. Once it occurs, the cable modem can't be seen from either my end or the cable end.
