RE: Premiere internet speed seems a joke for what I am paying!

I am in the exact same situation, I have had the Cox premier internet package for about 4 months now and have very rarely ever see speeds close to those advertised. It is quite strange really, around 7:00pm until about 11:30pm the internet speeds that I regularly attain are in the single digits (I am paying $60.00 for an advertised 45mb/s). I have had several technicians come to my house to resolve the problem to no avail. The last technician suggested that the local node that I am connected to may be over encumbered by traffic during those times. After about 3 weeks, I called to check the status of the maintenance request to input a new node in my area in order to  try to free up some of the traffic. Apparently my issue has been "resolved" according to Cox; however, that could not be further from the truth. Every single night and every single weekend my internet consistently delivers sub 5mb/s download speeds with adequate upload and pings. Try buffering a 1080p movie with that or even having more than one person connected to the internet at a time. Actually my 4g mobile phone service has faster download. Now you might ask yourself, "well why don't you just switch providers?"Good question, there is absolutely no other provider for my area. I am stuck in this internet jail that Cox has provided for me without much recourse. Also to note, I am not bundling anything with Cox and my connection is straight from the wall to the modem that Cox provided free of charge after they thought my own modem was inadequate (it isnt and their modem has provided no better service). Needless to say I have never been more upset nor dissatisfied with another internet provided. As soon as another internet provider comes to my area I will be switching immediately.
