Seems you are probably right. Cox lied to me!
The millionth technician came out and found signal loss from curb to my home. He completed a ticket to construction crew to come out and replace cable with RG-11 (wider cable for longer distance). I had called in days later, and was told the work had been done. The connection drops continued. So, when the next guy came out, I could see at the street junction box that it had NOT been re-cabled. I called into Cox and they had to re-issue a ticket. I was told I be called back in 24 hours to confirm it would be done. Never got a call.
Today, another guy came out from Cox. He replaced a splitter junction in two places. Also, he is coming out to run the RG-11 cable tomorrow morning, around 9 am.We'll see.
