As stated in your forum post, your account has the correct service code but there was a newer version of firmware available. I have updated the firmware for you. I recommend doing the following:
Bypass all splitters and connect directly from the modem to the wall.
Bypass the router and connect straight to the modem with your computer.
Check connections for cuts, frays, and bend.
Run a speed test at the Cox website.
