Its the COX run around. They blame you for their problems. Either their problem is something they're not willing to address (not enough nodes), or they are completely clueless as to whats causing the problem. I've dealt with COX for over a decade, through the bad and good. When its good, its good, but frequently there are troubles and they lay them at the customers feet. I know they're not my problems. Like these good people I've done everything in my power to fix them, and low and behold the problems persist until one day they magically disappear.
Example, I haven't had steady packet loss for quite some time (a year?) And it showed up after seeing some technicians on my street the past week right before COX's sponsored SEC Baseball event. Are they related..? who really knows. Is there something wrong with my equipment causing this problem.. No.. No... NO. What do I do? I can call in and get the run around by COX, switch to a even crappier provider, or boycott the internet.... So basically, like most COX clients, I just have to pay them and bide my time till it starts working properly again. There are some class-action law suits against COX for selling services they're not equipped to provide. If you're really frustrated, I would advocate trying to find one of those... Maybe that'll get them moving. COX has been doing a lot worse ever since they transitioned to Fortunate 500 Corporate America about a year ago.
