calbritWhen I moved here 5 years ago they gave me an Arris 502G modem. Looking at the list it doesn't show and when I look online it says it is a docsis 2.0 modem. They didn't say I needed a new modem when upgrading to premier and I also don't get the quoted speeds. Do I need a new modem from Cox?
It may not have been a requirement when you upgraded. The DOCSIS 3 speed increase for Premier didn't go into effect in areas that have it until late 2012 and the installation requirement for Preferred and above didn't to into effect until early 2013. However, all areas now have a swap program for Premier and above and most areas have it for Preferred and above for customers with a Cox-owned DOCSIS 2 EMTA.
